OTTAWA, le 8 août 2002 – La très honorable Beverley McLachlin, Juge en chef du Canada et de la Cour suprême du Canada, se réjouit de la nomination de Madame la juge Marie Deschamps de la Cour d’appel du Québec. Elle a exprimé ses félicitations à la juge Deschamps au téléphone. Le Juge en chef a déclaré : “Madame la juge Deschamps est un juge consciencieux dont l’expérience et l’expertise contribueront grandement au travail de la Cour. Je suis particulièrement contente qu’elle puisse se joindre à nous à temps pour l’ouverture de la session d’automne le 30 septembre prochain”. Madame la juge Deschamps a indiqué au Juge en chef qu’elle avait hâte d’entreprendre son travail à la Cour.

PRESS RELEASE
OTTAWA, August 8, 2002 – The Rt. Hon. Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of Canada and of the Supreme Court of Canada welcomed the appointment today of Mme Justice Marie Deschamps, from the Quebec Court of Appeal, to the Supreme Court of Canada. She expressed her congratulations to Mme Justice Deschamps personally in a telephone conversation. The Chief Justice stated, “Justice Deschamps is a dedicated judge, who brings to the Court a wealth of expertise and experience. I am particularly pleased that Justice Deschamps will be able to take up her duties in time for the opening of the Fall Session on September 30th ”. Mme Justice Deschamps has indicated to the Chief Justice that she is eager to begin her work at the Court.
